Welcome to Zêzere Arts for singers and musicians, for performers and for those who love to listen and experience live performance. Zêzere Arts runs an annual Festival which is a summer course for advanced singers culminating in a huge range of quality performances open to the public. Visitors are welcome to our festival where they can enjoy high quality music making, good food, weather, swimming, boating, walking and the peaceful pleasures of rural central Portugal near the stunning river Zêzere.
Zêzere Arts Festival of Opera, Song and Singing
The Zezere Arts festival takes the form of a summer course for singers with a real difference. It offers solo singers the opportunity to develop their experience and advance their careers by gaining professional level performing experience. Choral singers can avail of a unique opportunity to sing together in one of the most amazing buildings in the world, the Convento de Cristo in Tomar. The festival presents performances in the town and area of Ferreira do Zêzere in central Portugal during the first two weeks of August each year. The first festival took place in 2011 and we are now planning our third edition for August 2013. Opera, Oratorio and Song will be performed to local audiences throughout the region in an exciting programme which is being enthusiastically welcomed and supported by the Council of Ferreira do Zêzere, the Convento de Cristo, local musicians and national and local press.
