As part of the Zêzere Arts Festival 2014, you have the opportunity to come and and visit teh ancient town Tomar in Central Portugal and experience rehearsing and performing in the stunning Convento de Cristo.
Your choral holiday will combine great music, an incomparable venue and performance opportunity with a chance to holiday in this beautiful and sunny part of Portugal.
Our Festival Oratorio Chorus for 2014 will perform Haydn's Creation. It is a chance for enthusiastic choral singers to do something you love (singing) in an amazing venue and combine it with a relaxing holiday in the picturesque town of Tomar, Portugal.
Dominated by the Convento de Cristo, an ancient Templar fortress and convent, Tomar is a charming town with a beautiful centre, set on the river Zêzere. The whole region has much to explore and our Choral Holidays will combine a once in a lifetime singing experience with the chance to explore and enjoy this beautiful region.
The choral holiday week will take place from July 19th to 27th 2014 in Tomar, Portugal.
Choral Holiday Accomodation
Accomodation options are in charming 2 and 3 star hotels all located in the historic centre of the old town (4 star accomodation can be arranged on request).
There will be one main rehearsal per day, taking place in the Convento de Cristo itself and participants will prepare and perform Haydn's Creation at the Convento on Saturday July 26th. The rest of your days will allow you to enjoy Tomar and surrounding areas at your own time and pace with optional tours planned to local beauty spots and places of interest.
€380 - €450 pps including B&B. The price range reflects accommodation choices from 2 to 3 star in hotels in the historic centre of Tomar.
Festival Chamber Choir
For those who prefer a more challenging singing experience and schedule, join up to 30 singers as part of the Festival Chamber Choir. The Chamber Choir will perform several works over the course of the festival with a much heavier rehearsal schedule. You can find more details here...
