ZêzereArts Festival 2019 - Featured Choirs

ZêzereArts Featured Choirs - July 16 - 21

The ZêzereArts Festival is welcoming applications from choirs wishing to participate in 2019 and/or future Festivals.

Featured choirs in the 2019 ZêzereArts Festival will have the opportunity to perform their chosen programme during the Festival.

The featured choirs will also work together with artistic director Brian MacKay and the festival's music staff in preparing for a performance of polychoral works, including Tallis' masterpiece, Spem in Alium together with the members of the ZêzereArts Festival Choir.

This final performance will take place in the unique surroundings of the 12th century UNESCO world heritage monument, the Convento do Cristo in Tomar.  Apart from performances and daily rehearsals during the Festival, featured choirs can avail of rehearsal spaces to work more intensively together in between spending time discovering the natural and historical features of the Médio-Tejo region.

Apart from the Convento de Cristo, the ZêzereArts Festivals offers a range of stunning settings for music making such as the Mosteiro da Batalha, Mosteiro de Alcobaça or the Sanctuario Nossa Senhora do Pranto in the village of Dornes. With this comes the opportunity to participate in the atmosphere of summer music festival performing for local and international audiences and spending time with like-minded musicians.

Choirs wishing to participate in the ZêzereArts Festival as featured choirs are required to send recent recordings of two contrasting pieces, photographs and biographies of the choir and their conductor. Please fill out the following form in order to register your interest:
