Juliana Mauger

Juliana Mauger is from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, but has lived in Portugal for 24 years. She studied singing at the Universidade Estácio de Sá, in Rio de Janeiro.

On relocating to Portugal, she sang with the Gulbenkian Choir for 12 years.

Her operatic repertoire includes Popova, The Bear, William Walton (Gulbenkian); Maura, Riders to the Sea, Vaughan Williams (Gulbenkian); Flora, La Traviata, Verdi (São Carlos); Mother, Noah's Ark/Noye's Fludde, Benjamin Britten (Opera Artava); Madalena, Rigoletto, Verdi (Coliseu de Madeira); Third Lady, The Magic Flute, Mozart (Coliseu dos Açores); Orfeu, Orfeu e Euridice, Gluck (Teatro de Trinidade).

She has performed as a soloist with conductors Sir Colin Davis, Ivo Cruz, João Paulo Santos, Michel Corboz, Zsolt Hamar, Brian MacKay, Alistair Auld, Pedro Carneiro, Kodo Yamagishi, Dr. Marian Doherty and Christopher Bochmann.

Juliana's sacred repertoire includes Nisi Dominus, Vivaldi (Helix Dublin); Stabat Mater, Pergolesi (Almada, Teatro Municipal); As Sete Ultimas Palavras de Cristo, Haydn (St. Anne’ Cathedral, Belfast); Magnificat, Bach (St. George’s, Belfast); Requiem, Verdi (Principado do Barhein); Requiem, Mozart (Helix, Dublin, St Anne’s, Belfast, Igreja de São Roque, Lisboa).

Her solo recitals display her affection for Brazilian music, such as her performances at the Gulbenkian Museum, the Casa de América Latina, the Palácio da Bolsa do Porto, the Palácio Foz de Lisboa, Convento dos Capuchos, Almada, in addition to recitals in London, Dublin, Bahrain, Mérida and Venice.
